Enrolment options

This course provides students with an introduction to the physical environment.  The course covers introductory concepts in the areas of physics, chemistry, and earth and space sciences.  Concepts covered in the physics unit of this course includes quantitative measurements and calculations of forces and motion, work and energy, temperature and heat, and waves.  Chemistry unit introduce students theories of atomic structure, fundamentals of matter, periodic table, and the general types chemical reactions.  The course concludes with introduction to theory of plate tectonics, structural geology, and geological processes that continue to shape our planet Earth.  Pre-requisites:  MA103 and EN100
