This course provides practice in skills needed for both academic and research writing.  Students use methods of generating ideas to adequately narrow down topics and produce relevant supporting ideas for topics. Throughout the course, students gather information from primary and secondary source materials to support their research papers. Enhancing critical thinking skills, students will critique and analyze collected evidence, and incorporate paraphrased, summarized, and quoted information from source materials into their thesis-thriven research papers. Proper paper format, source documentation, and editing and revising skills will also be enhanced.
